The Delgani String Quartet
Oregon's Delgani String Quartet is one of the most active chamber music ensembles in the Pacific Northwest, with over 75 performances and educational programs each year. The quartet curates their own concert series in both Eugene and Salem while also appearing as guest artists throughout the state. Delgani recently completed its first east coast tour following an invitation to perform at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The quartet includes Jannie Wei and Wyatt True, violins, Kimberlee Uwate, viola, and Eric Alterman, cello.
John Hidalgo, Composer
John Hidalgo earned a Master of Arts in Music Composition from California State University, East Bay, where he studied with Frank La Rocca.. Recently he has designed curriculum and courses for post-secondary education and created new works. Following the beliefs of the early Greek society that included wisdom, justice, piety, courage, and moderation, John has created The Five Virtues to consider which virtues those might be in today's world. The five movements, performed without pause, are titled Chasing the Sun, Amaranth, Chasing the Shadow of the Moon, In Purgatory, and Brightest Heaven of Invention.
